Walden Pond via Bay Circuit Trail

A walk through history and some New England beauty. The Bay Circuit Trail is composed of 230 miles of recreational trail that runs in a mostly semicircular fashion from the north shores of the state down to its south shores near Plymouth. This section brought a few other AMC hikers and myself through some historic parts of Concord and to Walden Pond, a pretty, small body of water adjacent to the cabin in which Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote the pond’s namesake book. The pond can be visited with a much shorter walk. This hike also brought us over the small wooded peak of Mount Misery. If you do not want to venture far outside the city, aren’t craving anything too wild, and want to learn some history, this is a nice hike for you.
