Connecticut

Connecticut is my second back yard and one that I have had plenty of time to explore. Most of my hiking had been concentrated to the northwest of the state where the Apalachian Mountains creep into the state and the terrain is much more wild than one would expect in such a small state. The Metacomet, or New England Scenic Trail (NET), offers awesome hiking down a ridge that creates the state's spine and runs up through Massachusetts into Southern New Hampshire. I've visited Tunxis State Park and the fifty two miles of Appalachian Trail and loved the vistas, small broks, waterfalls, and interesting geology that this little state offers.
