Observed WildlifeI've hiked this trail, and specifically, this section more than any other. It starts with a steep climb, then levels out in a nice low forest. The terrain becomes more densley forested before getting a little rockier as it climbs a bit more. The west-facing view at the end of this hike is awesome. It is the best place in miles to watch the sunset, just remember a headlamp.
This was also a favorite of my dog Emma and is a great place to bring your dog. She seemed to enjoy the vista as much as I did.
