Vermont

I first became familiar with this quaint New England state through its many awesome ski mountains. In the last couple years I occasionally hiked here and plan on returning more. Green Mountain National Forest is very aptly named. The woods of Vermont are extremely lush and it is especially spectacular in October. The forests contain many alpine ponds and lakes, some I've discovered, but many more I want to explore.
